These horses who would love for you to be their sponsor!

Paris was saved from slaughter by our fellow EQUUS Foundation Guardian charity, Rising Starr Horse Rescue.  The picture below was taken right after they rescued her.  We just can't understand how people will throw away horses without any care for their welfare.  We are thankful to Rising Starr Horse Rescue for allowing us to adopt Paris and provide her a good life as she deserves!  Please consider supporting some of the costs of her continued rehabilitation and training.

Paris is the youngest member of our herd!  We adopted this lovely grey quarter horse mare in June of 2019. Paris was nearly starved and unbroke when RSHR purchased her from a kill pen in Kansas, and shipped her to New York for rehabilitation and to start her training.  After several months in RSHR's loving care, Paris' willingness to please, kind personality, and talent began to show itself.  After only six or so rides under saddle, our Access Equestrian staff saw the potential in Paris and decided she would be a good fit for our herd.  We continue to see growth and progress as this beautiful, smart young horse is developing in a wonderful therapy partner!

Coco, "Chocolate Lover's Dream" is an twenty-three year old brown Connamara pony who came to Access Equestrian after spending much of his life eventing and participating in Pony Club rallies.  As a family-owned children's pony he is perfect for our program and for our beginner through intermediate students.  Coco enjoys helping students learn to canter and jump, and loves to go to rallies and competitions with our more advanced students.

Picture
Kiki, "Cascada" is a fifteen year old mare who came to us from Wellington Florida.  She was bred in Costa Rica and lived in Panama for a number of years before moving to the states.  Kiki has competed as a jumper, and has also been trained in dressage.  She has a lovely, quiet demeanor, and is very smart and motherly.  We call her "The Professional" because she takes every job we give quite seriously and always does her best to help her rider succeed at whatever task they are learning.

Picture
Ivan, "BDF Ivanhoe" is a thirty year old Norwegian Fjord with the feathers to show for it.  Bred in Canada, Ivan was a stallion until he was six and was trained as a driving pony.  He spent many years teaching children riders as a dressage and eventing pony.  Ivan became part of Access Equestrian's program in September 2014, and shows great patience and enjoyment for his job every day.  As soon as his bridle is put on, he is ready to go, and especially loves carrying the smallest of our clients.

Did you know that Ivan has his own Facebook page?  Please like and follow him to keep up with all the happenings with horses and other farm animals!

Scarlet, "Scarlet's Journey" is a twelve year old Belgian cross paint mare, who loves to hunt, jump and go on trail!  Her lovely color makes her a barn favorite, and she enjoys being in the middle of a conversation more than anything else.  In therapy lessons, she is able to carry many of our larger riders, and is very careful and aware of her rider.  Scarlet came to us quite "green."  This makes her a great match for many of our independent riders, and they work to learn more advanced skills together.

Picture
Al Capony is one of the newest members of our herd, and we are so happy to have him as our farm mascot.  Standing at just 9 hands high, this adorable black and white American Shetland pony was adopted from Omega Horse Rescue in New Jersey, a another fellow EQUUS Guardian.  In his short time with us, he has already won the hearts of many and has shown himself to be the perfect gentleman.  He very much enjoys his walks around the farm with our staff, volunteers and clients and is patient and kind for grooming and basic horsemanship lessons for clients who are fearful or not ready to with our larger horses.

Our Sponsor YOUR Favorite Horse program gives you the opportunity to join our community and support Access Equestrian in a very unique way. Our horses are the heart and soul of our program. When you choose to sponsor a therapy horse, your generosity will directly contribute to the care and happiness of that special horse. We truly hope that one of our extraordinary horses will come to mean very much to you, as they serve our program in such meaningful ways!
